Class 1

Organisation of the School

From September 2016, the children will be organised into two mixed age classes as follows:

 Class 1  Nursery, Reception and Year 1
                Class Teacher: Mrs Arrowsmith
                Teaching Assistants: Mrs Harper and Mrs Morgan

 Class 2  Years 3-6
               Class Teacher: Mrs Hume
                Teaching Assistants: Miss Glover and Mrs Harper

 

 

Class 1 Newsletter

Class 1 have been looking at recording the weather and have discovered what happens to a thermometer in the sun and in the shade. They have set up a rain gauge and area waiting some rain!

Practical Maths in Class 1 - even in nursery we understand what 'half' means

The nursery children enjoyed making carrot cake!

The children looked at different types of paper and investigated which one would make the best aeroplane. Newspaper was the best.

The children have also made bread and jelly to observe how they can change materials.

The children in Class 1 have been learning about Materials this term. They have been searching for different types of material and sorting them.

Bluebell Garden

The children have had fun in Bluebell Garden with the children from East Cowton. They have built shelters for a Bog Baby, nests for birds and enjoyed hot chocolate made with hot water boiled in the Kelly kettle.
