Nature gave the children a fantastic opportunity to compare two amphibians - the frog and the toad. They worked scientifically, observing similarities and differences between the two creatures.

Class 1 have conducted a wide range of investigations so far.

When exploring how to stay healthy they studied the sugar content of many household favourite foods. Drinking chocolate was by far the highest and the children were surprised at how little sugar corn crackers (similar to rice cakes) contained.

Tomato ketchup was a bit of a shocker too!

They looked at a range of materials and how they could be changed by twisting, stretching, squashing and bending.

Using this knowledge the children then selected suitable materials to construct a bridge strong enough to carry a car across the purple river (aka Mrs Arrowsmith's scarf!)
